Auchan reinforces its energy transition with two new photovoltaic projects in Paço de Arcos, Portugal

Whoever enters Auchan Retail Portugal’s headquarters in Paço de Arcos is surprised to the wonderful solar carport that covers the upper parking lot. The carport with a power of 691 kWp and a self-consumption rate of 99%, ensures about 35% of the building’s energy needs and contributes to avoid the emission of 454 tons of CO2, that is the equivalent of planting 11,700 trees annually. 

 Helexia participated in the entire value chain of the project, from development to operation and maintenance, providing all technical, financial, legal and construction aspects. 

 Auchan Retail Portugal recently moved to its new headquarters in Paço de Arcos. The building with an area of ​​7,500 square meters, spread over three floors, has 500 fixed jobs and more than 100 flexible jobs. 

 The space reveals a great corporate cultural change and was designed as an open space, without fixed computers, to promote “collaboration and creativity”. In addition, the “circular layout of the building and its low height allows greater proximity between the teams, which are strategically distributed by function similarity”.
