ABOUT THE PROJECT
New self-consumption photovoltaic power plant on the roof of Décathlon Vélizy
The energy transition is a common source of motivation for the Decathlon and Helexia group. As part of its energy transition, Décathlon is finalizing a new collaboration with Helexia, by commissioning a self-consumption photovoltaic power plant on the roof of Décathlon Vélizy (78).
In this regard, Decathlon has been committed for several years to a proactive approach aimed at reducing its carbon footprint and making maximum use of renewable energy for all its stores. Indeed, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) policy, the company has committed to having 100% renewable energy for its stores and warehouse by 2021
For this new photovoltaic turnkey collaboration Helexia is at the same time developer, builder and installer of the self-consumption photovoltaic power pant on the roof of Décathlon Vélizy, while also ensuring the maintenance service of the power plant.
Quickwins for Décathlon Vélizy
Photovoltaic self-consumption, the strategic choice makes Décathlon Vélizy
100% of the energy produced by roof-top photovoltaic power plant is directly used by the Décathlon Store. Self-consumption thus allows the store to significantly reduce its electricity bill, while using locally produced green energy, which is a perfect alternative to traditional energy sources (fossil fuels, nuclear). Self-consumption photovoltaic energy, Helexia’s DNA, fits perfectly into the Decathlon group’s proactive CSR approach and thus allows the brand to strengthen its environmental commitments.
