Energy audit - Helexia - Prayon, first energy collaboration.
With more than 100 years of industrial experience, the Prayon Group has an international reach and is a leader in the phosphate sector. With 3 production sites in Europe (France and Belgium) and one site in the United States, the range of phosphate and fluorinated products developed by the group is used in particular in food, industrial, pharmaceutical and agricultural applications.
Respect and protection of the environment is one of the group’s priorities. Since the Group was founded, Prayon has kept its impact on the quality of air, water, soil and subsoil to a minimum. The Group’s proactive commitment to a strong environmental approach has led to ISO 14001 certification.
In line with its environmental commitment and ISO 14001 certification, Prayon called on Helexia to conduct an energy audit of the Saint-Claire-du-Rhône production site (38).

During the restitution of the industrial energy audit, Helexia proposed 3 scenarios of energy efficiency actions. These scenarios are prioritized according to the rate of return on investment requested by the customer. The result was a success,
- A Quickwins scenario with an IRR of less than 1 year,
- Ascenario with an IRR between 1 and 3 years,
- and finally a scenario 3, including all the optimization actions detected by Helexia.

The Helexia Prayon energy audit process
1. Start of collaboration and literature review
January 2020 : Analysis of the consumption data of the audited site, the site’s energy bills, the metering system in place, etc.
2. Technical visit
February 2020: On-site measurement campaign, enabling a precise inventory to be taken of the energy situation at each site and the distribution of energy consumption items.
3. Modelling of consumption and energy balance
Analysis and calculation of the theoretical and actual consumption of each site, through technical measurements and analysis of energy bills.
4. Restitution and Action Plan
May 2020 : Highlighting ofthe savings sources detected, costing and implementation planning. Helexia’s presentation enabled the Prayon group to present the action plan and the possibilities to the 3 action scenarios identified and the possibilities of support for their implementation.
